Yin Cai

I am interested in the creation and transmission of knowledge, craftsmanship, and political ideals through the social network of production, consumption and circulation. Particularly I am also interested in the visual and textual representation of technology/craftsmanship in the Chinese tradition. My research interests include the history of Chinese handicrafts, especially textile production, early modern craftsmanship, technology and visual culture.
